And The Aye’s Have It

This Week:

The House Judiciary Committee on Friday voted to adopt two articles of impeachment against President Trump charging him with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. It now goes to the House floor for the final vote right before Congress heads for Christmas break. Jared and FOX’s Senior Capitol Hill producer Chad Pergram covered this week’s marathon debate on Capitol Hill and they discuss the key takeaways and what the next steps will be.

The looming impeachment vote by the House next week does not seem to deter President Trump. The president still maintains he did nothing that warranted an impeachable offense. FOX’s White House Correspondent Jon Decker discusses what’s next and how the Trump Administration plans to govern in the midst of a possible Senate impeachment trial.

If the House votes on impeachment next week it heads to a Senate trial and Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts will preside over the chamber. FOX’s Washington Correspondent Rachel Sutherland and FOX’s Supreme Court Justice Producer Bill Mears discuss how Chief Justice Roberts will have to balance leading a Senate impeachment trial and his duties on the Supreme Court.

It has been a polarizing time in Washington with partisan lines drawn and while most Democrats will vote to impeach the president, it is unclear if all Democrats will back it. Many moderate Democrats and first-term House members in Trump states have to consider one of the most important votes of their career. Democrat Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin is one of them. Representative Slotkin is former CIA officer who ran for Congress in 2016 and flipped a seat in Michigan, a district won by President Trump. The congresswoman explains to Jared why she is still undecided on whether she will vote to impeach the president or not.
